What types of publications do we produce?
Housing Rights Manual
The Manual is a unique resource that provides detailed information on
housing legislation, policy and practice in Northern Ireland. It also gives practical advice and tips for
practitioners and covers subjects such as Homelessness, the Private Rented
Sector, Home Improvement Grants, Housing Debt and legal remedies. It is regularly updated to incorporate the latest
changes to housing law in Northern

Housing Advice Toolkit
The toolkit is designed as a practical aid for frontline advisers
dealing with housing issues in Northern
Ireland. It has four sections which cover
homelessness, renting privately, public rented housing and housing debt. The toolkit has details of other useful
references including the Housing Rights Manual and contains a variety of sample

Housing Rights Service Guides
Housing Rights Guides provide in depth information on key housing
issues, including new legislation.
Although dealing with complex areas of law, they are designed to be easy
to follow and aimed at a range of housing practitioners.

Fact files provide a succinct overview of new developments in housing

Housing Rights Review
Housing Rights Review is a policy journal that is produced three times a
year. It examines current housing policy
and contains information on legislative changes , recent case law and articles
on topics of interest.
Library
Information on
housing law in Northern
Ireland can sometimes be difficult to
access. Housing Rights Service has a unique library resource which offers a
wide variety of publications, including books, research documents,
reports, journals, consultation documents, annual reports and directories, on
a range of housing issues. The library, which
contains over 1,500 publications, is available for use by Housing Rights
Service members and the public. All information items are held on
database with an easy to use search facility. Publications can be searched by a
variety of categories including title, author/organisation, date of publication
and keyword. Please note that information items cannot be removed from the
library.
Case Law
Resource
It is
becoming increasingly important when representing clients to be aware of
relevant case law. Housing Rights Service
has developed a database of relevant case law which may be of interest to
practitioners. The database contains key
information and references to further reading in each case.

Legislation Resource
There is
an abundance of legislation relating to housing in Northern Ireland. Housing Rights Service can provide
information on relevant legislation including Housing Orders and Regulations,
housing benefit law, rates and legal proceedings.
