Antisocial behaviour is a common problem and a cause of concern for people across all tenure types.  This lunchtime learning session aims to help you understand when, why and how proceedings can be taken by social landlords on the grounds of antisocial behaviour. It will help you understand the law regarding both taking and defending proceedings for social tenants.  It will be delivered by Housing Rights Solicitor Carmel Ferguson LLB

This session will look at:

  • Common reasons for possessions in relation to ASB i.e. noise, assault, partying
  • How a case is brought from complaint to court hearing-has the social landlord followed the correct procedure
  • How a case is defended – looking at common defence strategies
  • Recent jurisprudence – legislation, statutory guidance and case law
