Graphic Design Volunteer Opportunity

Do you have design skills (Adobe InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator) that you would like to use to support a small dedicated Communications Team to build a library of dynamic visuals and marketing materials?

Housing Rights is seeking an enthusiastic volunteer with a keen interest in Graphic Design to make a big difference to our ability to promote our services, events and fundraising activities.  Your contribution will help us to convey our impact in an eye-catching and professional way.

This is a perfect opportunity for people who want to help our work, but would like the flexibility to volunteer in our office or remotely. It may also be ideal for those who are not always available during standard working hours.

Time commitment

Up to one day per week (occasionally more for substantive tasks e.g. Impact report)

Tasks

  • Build a library of visuals and marketing materials for our various advice projects (with their own brands)
    • Create images / graphics for use across social media channels
    • Design flyers, posters, display materials
  • Develop visuals and marketing materials for fundraising campaigns
    • Create images / graphics for use across social media channels
    • Design flyers, posters, display materials
  • Design corporate information such as brochure design for impact reports, annual reports etc, event branding, visual identity and marketing materials


Skills we are looking for from you:

  • Experience using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Work experience in graphic design
  • A good eye for design
  • Ability to create effective typography

You should be:

  • Creative
  • A good communicator to help convey a client’s story, brands and ideas
  • Brand and typography aware
  • Reliable
  • Have an interest in the work of Housing Rights

Additional Information

You will receive:

  • A full organisational induction from the Peer & Volunteer Development Coordinator
  • Reimbursement of out of pocket volunteer expenses within Housing Rights expenses guidelines
  • Relevant task specific briefings from a designated day-today supervisor
  • 1:1 supervision meetings to aid regular and positive communication between your day-to-day supervisor and the Peer & Volunteer Development Coordinator with the opportunity to discuss progress, training needs and any concerns
