HOUSING RIGHTS TO HOST A JUSTICE FIRST FELLOW IN 2022

Housing Rights are delighted to announce that we are participating in the Justice First Fellowship Scheme 2022.

The prestigious scheme was established by The Legal Education Foundation (TLEF), in partnership with other funding organisations in the social welfare law sector, to support the next generation of students committed to public interest and social justice issues, who want to pursue a career in social welfare law. The scheme is aimed at law graduates seeking to complete their training contract before taking up a role in social welfare law.

This will be the first year that Housing Rights have participated in the scheme and we are very excited to support and develop future leaders and advocates for social justice.

The fellowship includes a fully funded training contract; support from the organisation for fellows to develop their own access to justice project; support, training and access from useful networks.

Applicants must:

  • Have a Law degree or relevant equivalent degree with offer from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies of a place on the NI solicitor’s vocational training course in September 2022*
    * candidates should note that the offer of the Fellowship will be conditional on achieving a place on the ILPS solicitors course after offer of post and passing the ILPS examination.

  • Commit to serving a two-year term as a fellow commencing in April 2022.

  • Have demonstrated a commitment to social welfare law.
