Housing Rights first NI organisation to receive new award

Housing Rights has become the first organisation in Northern Ireland to receive a prestigious new business standard award for their commitment to diversity and inclusion.

We were presented with our BS76005 Valuing People through Diversity and Inclusion award at a recent event at Stormont.

Peter McMahon, Head of Business Services with Housing Rights commented:

“As a small charity we are understandably proud to be the first organisation in Northern Ireland to achieve this award.   It is a real testament to the strong values that drive our work and recognises the commitment to diversity and inclusion in everything we do.”

Valuing People through Diversity and Inclusion

The new standard launched in 2017 and is a code of conduct that can be used by organizations of any size and any sector. It aims to help organizations embed diversity and inclusion.

John Mulholland, Managing Director of PDQ Solutions Ltd and the award assessor commented:

“Housing Rights is an excellent organization which shows a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion both in terms of the people it serves and those who work on their behalf. The organization is embracing diversity in all its forms and has made its services more widely available as a result.”

The assessor noted Housing Rights strong value base and singled out our Housing Champions Project for particular praise. The project aims to enhance the housing advice service provided to black and minority ethnic communities in Northern Ireland.
