Housing Rights welcomes the Public Accounts Committee’s inquiry into Homelessness. To support the work of the Committee, we produced a briefing paper which is intended to supplement the findings of the NI Audit Office’s report into homelessness in Northern Ireland. The paper discusses the absence of an appropriate legislative underpinning for prevention, relevant developments in other jurisdictions, the increasing challenge in preventing homelessness and the necessary steps required to ensure homelessness prevention is prioritised and adequately funded.
