Housing Rights, in collaboration with Renters' Voice, has relaunched its "Tenant Participation and the Private Rented Sector in Northern Ireland" OCN level 2 training programme. Across two sessions this October, learners will understand the issues facing tenants in private renting, including the advantages and disadvantages of private renting, the principles of tenant participation, reform proposals, and how to influence change in the sector.

As a tenant advocacy group, the work of Renters’ Voice involves “Experts by Experience”, which is the belief that those who have experience in a problem are the best placed to figure out how to fix it. Participation work involves engaging experts by experience in the development and delivery of services and in influencing decisions, politicians, and government departments.

The course is perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about facilitation work or the private rented sector in general. To attain OCN accreditation, learners will have to complete coursework following completion of both sessions.
