As you all know, Renters’ Voice involves “Experts by Experience”, which is the belief that those who have experience in a problem are the best placed to figure out how to fix it. Participation work involves getting experts by experience involved in the development and delivery of services and influencing decisions, politicians, and government departments. Essentially, participation work is the work that Kerry and I at Housing Rights do with groups of experts by experience. The course is FREE, and learners can gain an OCN level 2 accreditation.

The Tenant Participation Programme will help learners understand issues in private renting, including the advantages and disadvantages of private renting, principles of tenant participation, reform proposals, and how to influence change in the private rented sector.

Commitment

  • We’re hoping to run the course over 2 full days, in person, across October.
  • This would be 1 session per week.
  • To attain OCN accreditation learners will have to complete coursework linked to the course
